Everyday Tips For Keeping You On Track With Weight Loss

Losing weight is extremely difficult. There are tons of delicious food options around you all the time that are high in calories. It's really easy to watch television and it can feel really difficult to exercise. You might be too tired to go to the gym or make yourself a healthy meal. There are a lot of different obstacles that you have to face everyday that could derail you from your weight loss goals. Here are some tips for staying on track with your weight loss goals.

1. Reminder Notes

Go to the store and pick up a pack of sticky notes. Write all of the reasons why you want to lose weight on the sticky notes. You might write phrases such as "feel more confident when talking to other people," "climb a mountain," or "be able to run around with my kids." You want to make sure that you capture all of the reasons why you want to lose weight. Then, put these notes all over your house. Make sure that you put them in areas that are associated with your weight loss goals. For example, put a few notes in areas where you store food, such as the fridge and the pantry. Put these notes on the drawer where you keep your workout clothes and the television where you might spend time avoiding going to the gym. These notes will remind you why making smart decisions is worth it.

2. Make Junk Food Hard to Get

Make purchasing junk food and accessing junk food as difficult as possible. If you have to have junk food in the house because you have kids or other people who like to eat it, put the food in a padlocked box that you don't have the key for. Make a promise to yourself that you will only purchase junk food with cash or with a specific debit card. Then, only carry cards or only put in a few dollars at a time on the debit card. This will make purchasing junk food more trouble than it is worth.

3. Keep Something From Yourself Unless You Exercise

Start a TV show, podcast, or book that you are absolutely hooked on. Then, only allow yourself to read, watch, or listen to the media when you are on the treadmill or the elliptical machine. If you're waiting on the conclusion to a cliffhanger and can't stop thinking about it, you'll be much more likely to go to the gym without a fuss.
