How To Reduce Wrinkles Before Getting A Facelift

A facelift can make you look much younger by removing many of the fine lines and wrinkles that are associated with aging. However, you may, for whatever reason, decide that you are not yet ready for a facelift. Good news! Getting a facelift is not the only way you can make your face look younger. Try these technique to tide you over until you are able to get work done.

Prevent Wrinkles First

Prevention is usually better than cure. If you avoid smoking, you will look much younger than if you smoke. Also, if you avoid the sun by using sunscreen, you will look younger than if you spend a lot of time in the sun. Sunscreen, however, will not completely protect you from the damaging effects of the sun. Your skin will eventually sag and you will best be able to correct this with a facelift.

Get a Massage

Sometimes, something as simple as a facial massage is enough to relax the muscles in your face and reduce the formation of wrinkles. The massage will also feel great. While this massage is non-invasive and can produce visible effects, it may not be able to reduce wrinkles that have already formed and this method might simply not be suitable for all patients.

Use Anti-Wrinkle Cream

You can begin a regimen of anti-wrinkle cream. This is ideal if you are just starting to see the signs of aging or if you are only experiencing the mildest signs of aging. These creams have moisturizers that can make the skin look more plump. However, these moisturizers can only go so far and you may need a facelift for more serious signs of aging.

Get Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can make your skin look younger by removing layers of dead skin. There are different types of peels and you will want to speak with a dermatologist to make sure that you are using the right one for your skin. For example, a salicylic is ideal for if you have oily skin.

Have a Botox Treatment

Botox is one of the most common cosmetic procedures and is considered to be non-surgical because you simply inject a needle into your forehead. Also, botox does not take as much time to recover from as a facelift. Besides reducing the appearance of wrinkles, botox will prevent the formation of new ones. However, there are limits to how much botox can reduce wrinkles and you may later need a facelift to achieve better results.
