In the morning, soon after you have awakened, your feet are likely at their smallest size of the day. Over time, as the day progresses, your feet swell. Thus, if you purchase shoes in the morning, your feet will likely be uncomfortable by the time you take them off in the evening.

Look for shoes with shock-absorbing insoles.

Your feet already carry the full weight of your body as you walk about. When you walk on hard surfaces without adequate shock-absorbent shoes, your feet experience even greater amounts of impact and pressure.

There are many different types of insoles that are available nowadays to help distribute your body weight and absorb shock. Specialized materials, such as gels and foams can help alleviate much of the discomfort that tired feet feel during the day.

Go barefoot when possible

As you move about your home, there's no reason to wear shoes. It is often best to give your feet a break from footwear and allow them to remain unrestrained whenever possible.
